MISSION "Connecting children in creative, age appropriate ways to the Triune God and to each other so that they will become life-long believers and followers of Jesus Christ."
At Christ Church, we love kids! We know at times that kids are going to be loud, messy and energetic, but rather than shaming them or their parents, we embrace the messiness of being a church family of all ages. Kids are welcome to stay in the service with their families or join our Kids Connect worship time during the service. Our Kids Connect team is committed to creating a safe place where your child can grow and develop spiritually in ways that are developmentally appropriate.
What to expect on your first visit? Our greeters will direct you to check-in at the computer in the lobby where parents will register their children. Each child will receive a name tag.
Nursery: Children ages 3 and under can join our Nursery which is open throughout the entire service.
Preschool - 5th Grade begin in the service: We believe that children learn to worship by being part of worship with the body of Christ. Therefore, children Preschool (age 4) through 5th grade worship with their family for the opening time of worship music. Following the beginning worship and Apostle's Creed, children are invited to stand for a prayer of blessing and then proceed to their worship groups with the Kids Connect team leaders.
God's Big Story Curriculum: We use God's Big Story an Anglican curriculum is rooted in the incredible truth that God has come to love and save his children through his Son Jesus Christ. It explores the biblical narrative from creation and the fall, to Jesus' sacrificial victory on the cross, to the promise of a new heaven and earth and our part in the story of God. God's Big Story is taught in the context of worship through hands on story presentation inviting children into the story through wondering questions. We worship through liturgy, song, scripture memory, catechesis (teaching of doctrine and the faith), prayer, and creative responses. We recognize that kids learn best through play and relationship and our time together is structured to facilitate both. Kids rejoin the serve for Holy Communion: During the Peace (a break in our service before communion starts), the children are brought back in to the service by Kids Connect volunteers so that families can receive communion together. Background Checks: Each of our volunteers are well known to the staff, are personally interviewed and complete an extensive national background check and complete abuse prevention training through Protect My Ministry to ensure your child’s safety.
